The task of creating a non-toxic restorative sanctuary in this sublime setting was challenging and successful. The style is contemporary: with clean crisp lines, supple American Clay Plaster, and simple, almost spare architectural details. The scale is majestic: with lofty ceilings and window walls that blur the line between inside and outdoors plus elegant flow from room to room On a practical level: the heat is geothermal , the well is shared, the 5000 gallon cistern fills up in a trice from over 4000 sf under roof. The metal roof, the thoughtful placement and connection of the septic, the additional water storage for fire protection, the yawning expanse of trex for trouble free enjoyment of fabulous views. Exterior walls are durisol insulated concrete, interior walls are magnesium oxide wallboard, radon mitigation, Marazzi tile throughout, custom doors crafted from organic sustainable oak. Every effort in terms of siting, materials, and thoughtful design was employed to create the ultimate healing environment.
